Dear visitor,

As long as I can remember I have been fascinated by the beauty of nature. Since my first photographic steps around 1975, this fascination developed into my passion to capture some of it's beauty in images and in fine prints.

Nowadays I have specialized in macro and close-up nature images. I also love to explore new landscapes and still-lifes with my camera. And this exploration does not stop after the exposure. The computer and it's software are a natural extension for me as a digital photographer. Although I love a fine print, the computer is also wonderful for sharing images.

My work is as much from the heart as it is from the mind. I seek to show in a personal way how impressive and valuable even the most common species and landscapes are if you are prepared for a view from a less common perspective. Although I travel the world for a living I am fascinated by the little and common life just around us. Even a handful of cherry seed can amaze me as much as a sunrise in the Amazonas.

I am trained as a professional photographer and have a good traditional darkroom experience. After a period without even touching a camera I returned into photography in 2006 with my first digital camera. Photography is still all about light and capturing the right moment. The digital technique including computer software opened up all new avenues. And it certainly brought again the tremendous joy of capturing nature, now with almost endless opportunities.
Our surrounding nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and creativity. I hope that some of my photographs will inspire you as well.
